This coffee comes from Jeebichu farm, a women-owned and operated organic farm in Gedeb, Banko Gotiti 1900 meters above sea level. It is an Indigenous landrace varietal that was dried and hand-sorted for three weeks on raised African beds.
A burst of sweet berries and chocolate with clean floral notes and citric acidity of Meyer lemon and apricot.
Rosting Guidlines for Behmore Roaster
When roasting this coffee with the Behmore use the manual mode to quickly transition the coffee through drying and into the Maillard stage as fast as possible. Choose the 1lb preset but only load 1/2lb green coffee. Once the roast starts press the P5 button to enter manual mode with full power, then press D to increase the drum speed. Wait for first crack to begin then drop the power to 75% by pressing P4. End the roast 45 seconds after first crack by entering into the cooling phase, and open the door to help drop the temperature as fast as possible.
